Embark on an Out-of-this-World Experience on the Space Coast

The Space Coast of Florida is the birthplace of American space travel -- where astronauts dared to dream of landing on the moon, and shuttles launched into orbit. Today, the ground still frequently shakes when rockets blast off into the galaxy.

Do you want to tour a real spacecraft or experience zero gravity? Do you want to launch your own rocket? On the Space Coast, anything is possible. With so many activities from space exploration to fishing and golfing, you’ll need our guide to help you choose the best way to enjoy your stay. Your adventure awaits!

Space Adventures

Folks from all over the world travel to Titusville for a one-of-a-kind experience at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. If you have ever fantasized about what it would be like to explore the vastness of space, you won’t want to miss this world-class attraction. The Space Shuttle Atlantis tells the incredible story of NASA’s 30-year Space Shuttle Program, and allows you to get up close to the spacecraft. The Shuttle Launch Experience gives visitors a chance to blast off and experience one of the most realistic space-flight simulators in the world. Guests can also explore the galaxy at the IMAX Theater or see the largest rocket ever made at the Apollo/Saturn V Center.

While touring the Space Center, don’t miss the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame, an inspiring tribute to America’s heroes. Celebrate the lives of the brave men and women who ventured through space, and explore the world’s largest collection of astronaut memorabilia. You can put yourself in an astronaut’s shoes and fly your own spacecraft with the 3D-360 simulator, or build and launch your own rocket.

Have you ever dreamed of floating through the air like an astronaut? ZERO-G Experience is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience zero gravity. A special Boeing 727 creates a weightless environment, allowing you to have a stellar time soaring and flipping through the air.

Outdoor Recreation

Located about four miles east of Titusville, the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge is a beautiful park of more than 140,000 acres. The refuge consists of a wide variety of habitats, providing homes to over 1,500 species of plants and animals including sea turtles, bobcats and ghost crabs. The wildlife refuge is a wonderful place for fishing and boating, or a peaceful spot for hiking and canoeing on a romantic date.

One of the largest birding festivals in the world, the Space Coast Birding & Wildlife Festival takes place on the Eastern Florida State College campus in Titusville during January. Hundreds of bird and wildlife enthusiasts flock to the Space Coast to catch a glimpse of some of the most sought-after bird species in Florida. Naturalists, photographers, scientists and more all gather to celebrate the winter fly-over phenomena, when birds migrate to warmer climates during the cold, winter months.
